Election ’08: It’s the Economy, Stupid

You know it, I know it, and most of America knows it—the economy is in the shitter.

With that statement, let’s shift focus. All too often are political campaigns based on insignificant, trivial things: who created the Internet, what the campaign tenor might have been in an alternate environment, who made the best fudge at the Congressional “Bake Sale to Fund the War.” America has had the good fortune to experience economic growth more often than financial despair, so these types of campaign tactics have been tolerated.

At this time, however, we are facing great economic strain. Even during these difficult times, some of the Washington crew would rather stick to their ideologies than do what needs to be done to make the American economy strong.

I, for one, will not tolerate it anymore. That’s why I’m going to share this video with anyone who wishes to watch. In it, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama talks about what he will do to straighten out the economy, and offers a link so you can read his full economic strategy.

[NOTE: Readers, do not feel compelled to think the same way I do–vote how you want. Just stay informed, and vote for the right reasons, not because you’re thinking with someone else’s brain—that goes for ALL voters, in red states, blue states, purple states, and those other states that don’t get mentioned a lot on the evening news. Pick up a paper, watch the news, or stay out of the booth on November 4.]
