I usually like to pack after I have had a couple (few) (some) (a lot) of beers. That way I'm not as sentimental and I usually end up throwing a lot of crap away or drunk dialing people at 3 in the morning asking them if they want some of my old sweat bands because I'm moving and won't be taking them with me.
