Alright kids, here we go: 101 things that I want to accomplish in 1001 days, or by Friday, October 21, 2011.

  1. Get my weight below 200 lbs, and stay there.
  2. Go for a period of three months exercising for an hour a day, every day—just long enough to make it a damn good habit. (0/90)
  3. Go thirty straight days eating dinner at home. (0/30)
  4. Go eight straight weeks limiting myself to one takeout lunch per week. [0/8]
  5. Go sixty days drinking water, coffee, or milk (read: no soda). (2/60)
  6. Write 1,000 words a day at least 95% of the 1,001 days. (10/950)
  7. Play guitar an hour a day at least 95% of the 1,001 days. (11/950)
  8. Learn the Led Zeppelin discography.
  9. Learn the KISS discography.
  10. Learn the “important” Beatles music: Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Peppers, Abbey Road, & The White Album, plus other select tunes (“Yesterday,” “Hard Day’s Night,” and “I Just Saw A Face,” for example).
  11. Put effort into and complete a painting of some sort.
  12. Pay off my smallest student loan.
  13. Get $3,300 in my savings account (roughly $100/month, if I took the full time to get there).
  14. Fill up my journal with meaningful, somewhat insightful writing.
  15. Beat Ocarina of Time (finally).
  16. Go to three Chicago Cubs games. (0/3)
  17. Take my overdue book about eBay back to the damn library.
  18. Replace my CRT computer monitor with a nice flat-screen.
  19. Build a new computer from barebones kit.
  20. Read all of Kurt Vonnegut’s novels (yes, even the ones I’ve already read).
  21. Read the following by Hunter S. Thompson: “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas;” “Fear and Loathing: On the Campaign Trail ‘72;” “The Great Shark Hunt;” “The Rum Diary;” & “Screwjack”.
  22. Make it to the 20SB Meetup in June!
  23. Finish “A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius” by Dave Eggers.
  24. Buy a bed for my new place.
  25. Knit myself a Zissou/Cousteau cap.
  26. Post at least one vlog.
